Robert Burr, Executive Director for the Glynn County Airport Commission has over 34 years of airport management experience including positions with Nashville International Airport, and Tampa International Airport. He is a Real Property Administrator (RPA ) as well as a private pilot, and an Adjunct Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University . He holds a bachelor’s degree in airport management and a master’s in aerospace education, both from Middle Tennessee State University. He is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) from the American Association of Airport Executives.
Shawna Williams is the Finance and Administration Manager for the Glynn County Airport Commission. She has over 20 years experience working in financial positions for municipal governments including the lead Accountant with Cobb County, GA. Williams received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Berry College with emphasis in Communication and Media Studies. She is also a member of Georgia Government Finance Officers Association.
Josh Cothren is the St. Simons Island Airport Manager and has worked in the aviation industry since 2011. He began performing facilities maintenance duties and providing line crew services for a local private FBO. Josh also served as a board member and Chairman of an Airport Authority. Josh graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State University with a Bachelor’s of Science. He is also a private pilot, Georgia POST certified Peace Officer and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Terra Winslett is the Airport Property Manager for the Glynn County Airport Commission managing property for the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport and the McKinnon St. Simons Island Airport. 20+ years of experience in office administration ranging from Airport, Real Estate, as well as Real Estate and Construction Office Management. She is a Georgia licensed Real Estate Broker, and acheived her Certified Member (C.M.) designation from the American Association of Airport Executives in 2016.
Vernon Bessing is the Facility Manager for the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport. He has 27 years of facility and grounds experience with the Glynn County Airport Commission. He hosts numerous certifications including Airfield Lighting, Master Landscape, Pesticide Chemical Licensures, Commercial CDL Licensures, and is certified in Wildlife Management.
Michael Menon is the Operations Manager for the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport, and has over 15 years of experience including positions with Athens Ben Epps Airport, and Dubuque Regional Airport in Dubuque, Iowa. He holds a Political Science degree from the University of Georgia, as well as graduated from the Georgia Fire Academy in 2011. He is a Georgia certified firefighter and a Georgia certified airport firefighter.
Administrative Support Staff
Katherine Kissling is the Senior Administrative Coordinator for the Glynn County Airport Commission. Her 20 year career includes various corporate roles: Human Resources, Office Manager and C-suite Executive Assistant. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Broward College with emphasis on Business Administration and Management. She has continued her education with university courses, professional development seminars and Georgia county government training. She is a member of the American Society of Administrative Professionals, Society for Human Resource Management, Georgia Association of County Clerks and the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association.
Jeanette McAlum is the Airport Administrative Coordinator and has over 25 years of Administrative Support experience with the Glynn County Airport Commission. She graduated from Perry Business College. She worked for various employers in accounting including the Brunswick Pulp and Paper.
