Robert Burr, A.A.E., Executive Director for the Glynn County Airport Commission began his employment on October 1, 2013. After starting his career in airport operations at Nashville International Airport, Burr moved to Tampa International Airport and spent the next 32 years in all aspects of airport management in a variety of operations management positions. In his most recent position, as Director of Operations for almost 11 years, he supervised over 200 personnel in Customer Service, Airport Security, Parking, Ground Transportation, Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting, Terminal Services and Airfield Operations. Burr is an Adjunct Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide, teaching graduate and undergraduate Aviation related courses.
Burr holds a bachelor’s degree in airport management and a master’s in aerospace education, both from Middle Tennessee State University. He is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) from the American Association of Airport Executives. Burr is a licensed private pilot.
